Updated:12:43, Friday February 22, 2008
The United Nations has condemned rioters who stormed the US embassy in Belgrade and set it on fire, leaving one person dead.

The US Embassy after the attack

Some 200,000 people had rallied in the city to demonstrate against Kosovo's independence when dozens of protesters, many wearing balaclavas, attacked the building.

A crowd of about 1,000 cheered "Serbia, Serbia" as one ripped the US flag off its pole and others jumped up and down on a balcony.

Smoke billowed out of the embassy as papers and chairs were thrown out of windows and burning doors were wedged in the frames.

A charred body was later recovered from the building. Officials said it was not that of a US citizen ....................... And this rather strange story Footballer Stung By Stingray Jinx

Updated:09:30, Friday February 22, 2008
An Aussie Rules footballer thought he had left his old team, the Dandenong Stingrays, behind when he got the chance to step up to a major league side - until his debut was cancelled by a sting from a stingray.
Stingray
Not Australia's most popular animal

Jarrad Grant's performances for the provincial team earned him a place with the Western Bulldogs in Australia's big league.

The 18-year-old rookie had been lined up to take part in a preseason match against Essendon.

However, he had to change his plans when he was stung on the ankle after stepping on a stingray as he swam with team-mates in the sea off the Melbourne coast. .. and one more, Blind Golfer Gets Hole-In-One

Updated:13:27, Thursday February 07, 2008
A blind 92-year-old man has stunned his golfing friends by scoring a hole-in-one in Florida.
Lucky Leo's golfing triumph

Leo Fiyalko sunk his 110-yard, five-iron shot on the fifth hole at Cove Cay Country Club.

He has been playing for 60 years, but this was his first hole-in-one.

"I was just trying to put the ball on the green," Mr Fiyalko said.

He used to have a seven handicap, but now he needs help lining up shots and finding his golf balls.

Jean Gehring watched as his friend's ball disappeared up the fairway and into the hole.

"I could tell it went on the green, but when we got up there I didn't see it.

"I looked in the hole and there it was," Mr Gehring said.

Mr Fiyalko's friends at the country club presented him with a plaque to commemorate his feat

The Great Commandment - Mark 12. 28-34 *Jesus said if you do these things ~ You are not far from the Kingdom OF GOD...

And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?
And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:
And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.
And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God.
