YOKO ONO IS IN the news after suing a struggling female singer called Lennon Murphy for exploiting the name “Lennon” for commercial/musical gain. And while today’s Yoko riposte suggests that the singer of the band Lennon is not entirely blameless in the matter (attempting to register “Lennon” as an exclusive trademark is a bit silly, no?), it didn’t stop MOJO staffers reeling off a list of the shrieking art-rock pepperpot’s least decorous bids to exploit her late husband’s legacy.

Radiohead have posted a new video for their In Rainbows track, Videotape, online. Available to view via the band's DeadAirSpace portal, the new promo was created by Thom Yorke and prodcuer Nigel Godrich. Yorke posted the following accompanying message:
"had a niggling feeling that this never really got seen much. Its a kind of video thing to go with Videotape using lots of wierd techniques we were messing with. Nigel and I really enjoyed making it at the end of last year. It appeared at the end of a webcast which i think was lost due to transmission problems. Bob Mould is set to play four UK dates in May. The gigs arrive alongside the release of his District Line LP. The former Husker Dü giant will take on:
Glasgow ABC (May 23) Manchester Academy 2 (24) Birmingham Academy 2 (26) London Koko (27)
The Police will tour the US and Canada for the last time this summer. The jaunt will begin on May 1 in Ottawa and will mainly consist of Amphitheatre dates. The band are unlikely to play festivals and stadiums. Stay tuned to MOJO for details.
Massive Attack have been announced as Artistic Directors of the this year's Meltdown Festival. The Bristol beat-merchants follow in the footsteps of such luminaries as John Peel, Robert Wyatt, Scott Walker, David Bowie, Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, Morrissey, Patti Smith and Jarvis Cocker. The group has released the following statement: "It's an honour to host Southbank Centre’s Meltdown festival and to be in such inspiring company as its previous curators. In addition to the music, we want this year's festival to have a strong political and visual element to it to reflect our influences and obsessions. Our aim is to mix it up a bit by instigating collaborations that make sense and probably some that don't.”

BERLIN (Hollywood Reporter) - Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards has offered troubled singer Amy Winehouse some free advice on kicking the drug habit.
"She should get her act together," the former junkie said during a round-table interview at the Berlin International Film Festival on Friday to promote Martin Scorsese's Rolling Stones documentary "Shine a Light."
The often-addled rocker paused, then added: "Apart from that, I have got nothing to say to the " blank "
Winehouse, 24, entered a London rehab clinic last month in hopes of kicking a destructive habit that has overshadowed her promising career.
Stones frontman Mick Jagger, himself no stranger to pharmaceutical experimentation and resulting legal troubles, compared the drug problems of the present generation of Brit rock stars, such as Winehouse and Pete Doherty, to his early days when drugs became an integral part of the pop music scene.
"When we were experimenting with drugs, little was known about the effects," Jagger said. "In our time there were no rehab centers like today. Anyway, I did not know about them."
Sounding a bit like the 64-year-old grandfather that he is, the fitness fanatic said he couldn't understand how the younger generation, knowing the dangers of drug use, could still be users.

City boasts less spitting, better queuing Drunk threatened city with TV remote Have you heard? Hospitals to ban gossiping LONDON (Reuters) -"And wait'll you see all the closet space!" 3 days ago (Reuters) An estate agent who took a prospective buyer to view a house in central England found the owner hanging dead in a closet, the agency said Thursday.
It was the first viewing of the 350,000-pound ($700,000) house which had been on the market for a week. The owner was hanging from a belt inside a walk-in closet in the main bedroom.
"It was quite a shock," said a spokesman for estate agents Hartleys. "Our agent quickly ushered everyone out, locked the property and called the authorities."
The owner, a single man in his 40s, is thought to have committed suicide. He inherited the house from his mother who died recently, the estate agents said.
